CPAP equipment in Canada
CPAP Brands Available in Canada
Compare the CPAP brands Virtual Sleep Care sells and learn how to verify the exact machine, mask, accessories, licence, warranty and support—not just the logo on the box.

What “available in Canada” should mean
Brand recognition alone is not enough. For a Class II, III or IV medical device, check the exact device name, manufacturer and identifier in Health Canada’s Medical Devices Active Licence Listing. Then confirm that the seller can supply the exact configuration, original instructions, warranty and ongoing parts and service in Canada.
A licence means the device is authorized for sale in Canada; it is not a recommendation for every person. Likewise, a product shown on a manufacturer’s international website may not be the Canadian configuration or currently stocked by a particular supplier.
Expert perspective
The best equipment choice starts with the prescribed therapy and a complete compatibility check. Features and price matter, but so do mask fit, humidification, replacement-part access, warranty support and help during the first weeks of treatment.

Seven factors to compare across CPAP brands
- Prescribed therapy: confirm fixed CPAP, auto-adjusting PAP or bilevel capability and the prescribed settings.
- Humidification and comfort: compare integrated or optional humidification, heated tubing support, ramp and expiratory comfort features.
- Mask and tubing compatibility: ask which connections are standardized and which masks, heated tubes or adapters are manufacturer-specific.
- Usage data and connectivity: confirm what the machine records, whether data use cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or an SD card, who can access them and whether fees apply.
- Parts and supplies: check local access to filters, water chambers, tubing, power supplies and mask components.
- Warranty and service: confirm who performs Canadian warranty work, when coverage begins and what happens if the device needs repair.
- Bedside and travel needs: compare size, sound, controls, display, power requirements, carrying case and travel-specific limitations.
Keep machines, masks and accessories as separate decisions
A machine brand does not automatically determine the best mask. Many masks use a common hose connection, but exceptions and travel systems exist, and fit depends on breathing route, facial features, sleep position and comfort. Compare CPAP machines, explore CPAP masks and check CPAP accessories as connected but distinct decisions.
Before committing to a device ecosystem, ask what is proprietary, which parts are normally replaced, how they are cleaned and whether local stock and support are likely to remain accessible.
How to check licences, recalls and online sellers
- Copy the exact manufacturer, device name and model or licence identifier from the product listing.
- Search Health Canada’s active medical-device licence database for the exact record when a licence is required.
- Search Health Canada’s recalls and safety alerts for the model, and read the dates and affected identifiers carefully.
- Confirm whether the item is new, includes all parts and original instructions, and carries a warranty valid in Canada.
- Keep the prescription, product description, serial number, receipt, warranty and supplier contact information.
For an affected Philips Respironics device, Health Canada advises speaking with the physician or device provider before stopping or changing prescribed therapy. Do not make a treatment decision from a recall headline without checking the exact affected model and current instructions.
Price and insurance comparisons need the full package
Compare the total package rather than the machine price alone. Ask whether the quote includes humidification, tubing, filters, a carrying case, connectivity hardware, setup, data review, follow-up and warranty support. A mask is often a separate fit decision.
Public programs and private plans differ by province, policy, supplier and clinical documentation. Confirm whether the exact machine and related components are eligible, whether an approved supplier or pre-authorization is required, and what itemized receipts must show. A better-known brand is not automatically better covered.
