Who We Are

Virtual Sleep Care is a New Brunswick-based, virtual-first sleep-health platform associated with East Coast Sleep Clinic. We are building a Canadian pathway that connects clear education with practical support for people exploring sleep apnea assessment, home sleep testing, CPAP equipment and follow-up care.

Our role is to help people understand the pathway—not to reduce sleep care to a quiz, a device or a transaction. Individual suitability, diagnosis, prescriptions and treatment decisions require the appropriate qualified professional and depend on the person’s circumstances and province or territory.

Clear Before Complicated

We answer the immediate question in plain language, then explain limitations, choices and useful next steps.

Care Beyond The Device

Testing and CPAP are pathways that include suitability, interpretation, education, troubleshooting and follow-up.

Trust Must Be Visible

Authorship, professional review, sources, dates, privacy boundaries and commercial relationships should be understandable to readers.

What Virtual-First Support Can Add

A virtual pathway can make education and follow-up easier to access when distance, schedules or limited local services create barriers. Depending on the approved service and jurisdiction, this may include remote conversations, device-specific education, review of questions about usage information and coordinated troubleshooting.

Virtual does not mean automatic or unmonitored. Before using a service, confirm who provides it, their professional role, where the service is available, what is included, expected response times, privacy practices, fees and who remains responsible for clinical decisions. A connected device or message channel should never be assumed to provide real-time monitoring or emergency care.

Our Approach To Health Information

Useful health content should give a direct answer without hiding uncertainty. We aim to separate established evidence from practical interpretation, distinguish general education from individual advice and avoid promises about diagnosis, treatment outcomes, product suitability or insurance reimbursement.

Clinical pages may require review by a qualified professional with relevant subject expertise. Editorial, medical, privacy, legal, accessibility, product and commercial reviews are separate responsibilities. A visible reviewer credit should apply only to the version and subject matter that person actually reviewed. Learn more in our Editorial Policy, Medical Review Policy and content-review process.

Meet The People Behind The Content

Virtual Sleep Care works with respiratory therapists and sleep-health contributors whose profiles describe their credentials, experience and intended review scope. A professional biography helps readers understand who contributed, but it does not establish a clinician–patient relationship or mean that the person has reviewed every page on the website.

Visit Sleep Health Experts Canada to view the contributor directory and understand the difference between writing, clinical review, editorial review and product review.

Canadian Context Matters

Access to assessment, testing, prescriptions, equipment funding and insurance reimbursement can differ by province or territory, health plan, provider and supplier. We use Canadian spelling and prioritize Canadian government, regulatory and professional sources when they directly support the subject. Where Canadian guidance does not answer a clinical question, we may use appropriate international guidelines or peer-reviewed research and identify the source.

Readers should verify local eligibility, referral and coverage requirements before relying on a general pathway. Our Insurance and Prescription Guide explains the questions to ask without promising reimbursement.

Privacy, Accessibility And Accountability

Sleep questions and health-service interactions can involve sensitive information. Before collecting personal information, a service should explain what is needed, why it is needed, who can access it, where it is handled and how a person can exercise applicable privacy rights. General website education should not be confused with a secure clinical channel.

We also aim to make information usable through readable structure, descriptive links, meaningful alternative text, keyboard-compatible interactions and plain language. Visit the Trust Centre for our privacy, accessibility, editorial and corrections information, including how to report a concern.

Our Commercial Boundary

Virtual Sleep Care may provide or sell sleep-therapy products and services. Commercial involvement should be clear and should not change the evidence standard used in educational content. Manufacturer information must be verified before it is presented as a product fact, compatibility must be checked for the exact equipment family and paid or material relationships should be disclosed where relevant.

A product page, comparison or buying guide does not determine what is clinically appropriate for an individual. Start with the prescribed therapy and verified compatibility, then consider comfort, support, replacement-part availability, total cost and purchase terms.

What This Website Cannot Do

  • It cannot diagnose sleep apnea or another condition from symptoms, a questionnaire or a consumer wearable.
  • It cannot determine whether a home sleep test, CPAP device, mask or treatment is appropriate for you without the required individual process.
  • It cannot authorize changes to prescribed CPAP pressure, medicines or another treatment.
  • It cannot guarantee service availability, test timing, treatment results, insurance coverage or reimbursement.
  • It is not an emergency service and should not be used for urgent monitoring.

If sleepiness makes driving or safety-sensitive work unsafe, stop the hazardous activity and seek prompt professional advice. Call emergency services for an emergency.

How To Evaluate Information On This Site

  1. Check the responsibility labels. Look for the author, reviewer where required and the date of the version reviewed.
  2. Open the sources. Confirm that important clinical or policy claims connect to relevant, current evidence.
  3. Notice the limits. Trustworthy content explains uncertainty, test limitations and situations requiring professional care.
  4. Confirm the destination. Before submitting information, booking or buying, verify who provides the service, applicable terms, privacy information and total cost.
  5. Report concerns. Use the Trust Centre process to identify factual, sourcing, accessibility, privacy or attribution issues.
